I met musician V Jeffrey Smith after a concert at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center. He has made music for 48 years having learned to play the saxophone at the age of 13 in Jr. High School and now plays 8 different instruments. Smith was playing with the band Fleetwood Black where he provided his talents with guitar, sax, other woodwinds and vocals.
Smith’s discography includes working with Whitney Houston, Stephanie Mills, Miki Howard, Freddie Jackson, Evelyn “Champagne” King and a host of others. As a record producer, Smith has worked with artists like Daryl Hall (of Hall and Oates),Paula Abdul, and many more.
V. Jeffrey Smith is also the co-founder and member of the immensely popular New York based soul and R&B group The Family Stand.
