100 Portraits, 100 Strangers, 100 Stories
Alex was playing along a wall on the 42nd Street side of the main branch of the New York Public Library near Bryant Park. When I asked him how long he’s been playing guitar, Alex answered “a long time” while still picking and strumming away. He was very good!
I returned to where I first saw him hours later and he was still playing.

Met Barbara at an ice cream shop in Berlin, NJ. She’s been working there about two years and has a beautiful bubbly and energetic personality.
Barbara loves to bowl and once scored 209, 212 and 192 in three successive games. I really liked her purple nails and had to include them in her portrait.
